We had a really good takeout dinner from House of Hong tonight. We couldn't have asked for anything more. We walked in and was greeted by a friendly, helpful human who answered our questions about the menu. I need gluten free so I ordered off the special diet menu and all was good. My partner ordered a standard dish of mixed veggies and was pleased. The food was perfectly cooked, portions were wonderful. I would come back, for sure.

Had a great New Year's Eve dinner at the House of Hong. I think a little understaffed, but our service was good, considering. Dinner was delicious and reasonably priced.

The server was very polite and patient, the food was very quick to get and fresh. We were the only ones in the place so thats probably why we got our food so quickly. Would recommend if you dont know where to go in the glen area.

Awesome vegetarian menu. I had a General Tso Bean Curd and a veggie egg roll. My partner had a vegetable lomein and an eggroll. Both our meals were fabulous. Extra star for having a dedicated vegetarian menu. Our server was pleasant. No booze available but there are breweries and bars on every corner in the area so just get some delicious grub and leave a great tip. Yum.

My needs for a Chinese food restaurant are pretty basic, and House of Hong meets those needs. First and foremost, the eggrolls must be delicious. I judge Chinese food restaurants primarily on their eggroll quality & the ones from House of Hong (specifically their regular eggrolls... not the vegetable eggrolls, 'cause I'm pretty sure those are actually fried spring rolls. Different roll wrapper) are delicious. They have the bits of Cantonese red pork in them and just *chef's kiss*... nom nom nom. So good. (** note: the eggroll included in my photo is one of the vegetable eggrolls because, well, in an unsurprising twist, I ate the regular eggroll from my order - i.e. the one with the red pork bits in it - on the way back to my friend's house.) Secondly, the fried rice should be cooked well with various bits of egg, veggies, and the protein of choice. It's surprising how often I'll try a new Chinese restaurant and the rice is just awful... undercooked, yellow rice with only the tiniest amount of carrots included seems to be the norm with a lot of places. Thankfully, House of Hong's fried rice is cooked well with plenty of ingredients mixed in. Another point in their favor. While I haven't tried the sushi here, or things like their pad Thai (which I didn't even realize they had), I can say that this is a 'go to' Chinese takeout spot when I'm in the area. Again, my orders are pretty basic... pork lo mein or beef w. snow peas, bamboo shoots, and mushrooms... that kind of thing, so your mileage may vary. That said, as long as I can grab a couple eggrolls with my order? It's all good.
